My advice to Brides for their big day – be in the moment.
I see so many brides who get themselves stressed out about the silliest details, like the dimensions of the napkins, that they over focus and forget to enjoy the process. It can be overwhelming planning a whole wedding but it is so important to remember the reason that you are getting married, and to enjoy and remember every moment.
When you are choosing your wedding look keep in mind that you want to feel comfortable and confident on your wedding day. This means looking like the best version of yourself and staying true to your own style.
If you usually wear your hair down, you will probably feel best if you have it down around your shoulders with loose curls or a sleek blow dry and flowers.
If you normally shy away from certain fabrics or cuts, don’t be swayed by the latest fashion, individual style is timeless and ten years from now you want to look back at your photos and see a dress that reflects who you are.
You are allowed to tell somebody that you don’t want their advice or input, especially if you feel you are being led in a direction that isn’t your own.
Also, it is key to choose your own dress before you choose your bridesmaid’s dresses – their look needs to fit around you.
Choosing a wedding gown is really personal, but you don’t need to feel alone in the process. Whether you have one idea, or ten ideas, or no ideas – come and discuss it with me, I will be able to work with you to create something that you feel perfect in.
