Can I try on dresses, or are they only made to order?
You can absolutely try on dresses! That is a huge part of the fun of chosing a gown for your big day. We have a full range of sample gowns from our most recent collection, and a selection from previous collections.
What sizes do you have?
Lainee´s designs are made for real women with real figures; these gowns are made to to enhance natural beauty by framing bodies in a subtle and effortless way.
We are able to produce from a size 4 to a size 32, and every gown is made to measure, so sizing is not something that you need to worry about! While we mainly house sample gowns between size 10 and 16, we enjoy working with every size and figure.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
For your first consultation please bring your wedding gown inspirations/wedding pinterest board ideas and anything you think would help us find your dream dress. We recommend wearing light or nude coloured underwear (you will not be wearing a bra when you try on dresses so there is no need to find nude one). For your measurements please bring heels similar in height to what you will wear on your big day. Please also bring some thin fitted clothing for measurements, preferably tights and a singlet.
What shape will suit my figure?
It is hard to say what will suit you until you have tried on some dresses, as each individual is unique. Our expert stylists can advise you on how to enhance your best features. Have a look at Lainee´s blog to get some tips and tricks for choosing the perfect dress.
Do you take care of alterations?
In a nutshell, yes. Although your dress is made to measure, each person has a unique shape. We work closely with Sam from Pyne & Eid Tailoring who can join us for your first fitting once the dress arrives, and then continue with alteration work on your dress. You are more than welcome to take your dress to your favourite tailor, and we have trusted tailors nationwide that we can recommend.
When is the best time to come to start looking for my wedding dress?
Lainee strongly recommends beginning your search at least one year to eight months before your wedding date. However, if you have a little less time, we can offer a rush order service or an off the rack dress.
When is the best time to be measured and order my dress?
This is best discussed with our expert stylists at your consultation. The latest time to order a custom dress is six months before the wedding, although the more time we have to work with, the more time we have for planning and alterations. Dresses may be able to be ordered on a shorter time frame on a case by case basis, but this will incur rush order costs.
Do you make or sell accessories such as veils?
Yes we do. Lainee designs hand-made veils and accessories such as hair pieces. You can ask about our veils during your consultation. We also have a collaboration with https://www.viviembellish.com/ and we sell some of her gorgeous bridal combs, headbands, and pins handcrafted in the heart of England.
Do you have a rush order service?
We are only able to make rush orders on a case by case basis, depending on our current demand. Be aware that this service involves extra costs.
Does it cost to try on dresses?
You will need to make an appointment with one of our stylists to try on our gowns. We offer a variety of consultation tiers, valued between 50-120 dollars. The cost of your first consultation fee will be taken off the price of your gown.
What is your price range?
We offer a range of gowns to fit different budgets. Bespoke and make to order dress range from $xxx to $xxx. Off the rack gowns range from $xxx to $xxx.
Do you have payment plan options?
We require a 50% deposit before we can begin production, and to secure your spot in the wedding season. We are happy to accept this deposit in weekly instalments, but we cannot begin production until it is covered.
What happens if I lose or gain weight before the wedding?
This is why alterations are important! Our weight can naturally fluctuate, and we want to make sure that your gown fits perfectly on your big day. We will be available to talk through any eventualities.
How long will it take to produce my wedding dress?
Between 8 weeks to 4 months depending on the time of year and on the dress.
How do I store my dress before and after the wedding?
Proper storage of wedding gowns is very important to preserve the original appearance and prevent damage to the dress. It is important to select a cool, dark, dry storage area, free from insects and pets! Each of our gowns comes with a special breathable garment bag, which is ideal for storage before and after the wedding. We suggest having your gown dry-cleaned prior to storage as watermarks and perspiration can yellow over time.
Can I take photos of the dresses during the fitting?
You absolutely can! In fact, we will help you take them for you (our stylists know all of the best angles).
Who should I bring to the fitting?
We allow up to three extra people in the studio during the fitting, so please feel free to bring along some bridesmaids, friends, or family.
What if I need to cancel/reschedule my fitting?
We ask that you give us 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your fitting.
